• Kyla started her Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey in 2020 under the tutelage of Professor Daniel "Jacaré" Almeida, and instantly fell in love with the sport. She became obsessed; training 6 days a week, twice a day, and doing several PT’s weekly. She wanted to learn as much as she could and dedicated all her time to improving her Jiu Jitsu. After 3 months of consistent training, she started competing, and since then has competed in competitions across QLD and NSW; amassing a respectable record, and bringing home numerous medals and trophies for her team. After a year and a half of training, she earned her blue belt, and now assists in coaching kids BJJ. Her dream is to compete all over the world, and use her Jiu Jitsu as a base to propel her into MMA.

  • Marley started his BJJ journey around November 2020 with a one week free trial at Gold Coast Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and immediately fell in love with the sport. What was originally meant to be a fun hobby turned into so much more when some of his teammates started having competitive success in BJJ, and it was at that point that Marley saw his own potential and what he could achieve if he trained hard. Under the tutelage of Professor Daniel "Jacaré" Almeida and Coach Dylan Bedford, Marley has gone on to capture numerous gold medals and improve his Jiu Jitsu in leaps and bounds; looking stronger and more technical with each passing competition. Marley has found his home at GCBJJ, and is excitedly looking forward to his future in the sport.

  • Brianna began her martial arts journey in 2013, after her father mentioned a free trial boxing class at his gym. She instantly fell in love with the sport and set her sights on becoming one of the greatest fighters. She started training 2-3 times a week at Whitsunday Martial Arts with head coaches Anton Zafir and Dan Zealand. Her focus soon expanded to include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), which quickly became an obsession. While living in North Queensland, Brianna dedicated herself to training six times a week and competed in various competitions.

    In December 2020, Brianna and her family decided to move to the Sunshine Coast. There, she joined Integrated MMA, training under head coach Rob Giuffrida. Her training schedule intensified to 6-8 times a week, and she continued competing in BJJ across Southeast Queensland. By the beginning of 2023, Brianna decided to concentrate specifically on her gi jiu-jitsu skills and started training at SJJA with head coach Maverick Santos.
